Roky Erickson and The Aliens

On this date in 1980, Roky Erickson and The Aliens released their self-titled debut album. It contained the single, "Creature With The Atom Brain". The album was expanded and re-released under the name I Think Of Demons in 1987. Roky Erickson had formerly been with 1960's band 13th Floor Elevators. This band was geared towards horror punk. The Austin, Texas native collaborated often with Texas punk band The Nervebreakers. Mental health issues have plagued Roky Erickson for years but he resurfaces now and then.
